Domaine Jean-Louis Chave is a highly esteemed winery in the Hermitage appellation of the Northern Rhône, with a history that dates back to 1481. The Chave family has been crafting exceptional wines from Syrah grapes grown on the Hermitage hill for generations. The Hermitage Rouge Chave 1997 displays a deep ruby colour with garnet hues. On the nose, the wine offers aromas of ripe red and black fruits, such as blackberries, cherries, and raspberries, along with notes of black pepper, smoked meat, leather, and a touch of earthy minerality. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, showcasing a rich fruit character, supported by firm tannins and balancing acidity.
