Heitz Cellars is the iconic Napa Valley winery founded in 1961 by Joe and Alice Heitz. It is best known for its single vineyard wines made of Cabernet Sauvignon, and in particular the Martha`s Vineyard wine, the first vintage of which was 1966. The 1996 vintage is at its peak now, revealing notes of cassis, eucalyptus, black cherry, leather, graphite and some earthy undertones.
