Family owned since its founding six decades ago, Heitz Cellar was a pillar of the new-wave Napa Valley wine industry that began in the early 1960s. It is best known for its single vineyard wines made of Cabernet Sauvignon, and in particular the Martha`s Vineyard wine, which is one of Napa`s iconic labels. Heitz holds an exclusive agreement with the owners of the14-hectare vineyard in the Oakville AVA since the first purchase of fruit in 1965. This release hails from the 1977 vintage, a positively good year for the estate. On the nose, expect aromas of red cherry, dried figs, cigar box, mint and some floral undertones. The palate is fully integrated, combining red fruit with fantastic earthy notes and bright acidity.
