Heimbourg Gewurztraminer Vendange Tardive Zind Humbrecht 1994

Domaine Zind-Humbrecht, one of the most recognisable names in French wine and greatest exponents of biodynamics in Alsace, has a number of parcels across the varied terroirs of Alsace and is renowned for expressing the complexity of the region through their single vineyard bottlings. Vendages Tardives denotes grapes that have been late harvested, usually several weeks after the official starting date for the harvest, and will be much higher in sugar and ripeness. The wines are always sweet and sometimes will contain some fruit affected by Botrytis rot.

1994 was a good year for sweeter wines with a combination of rain and sun allowing for noble rot to appear.
