Originally founded in 1919, Domaine René Engel was a historic estate that came to an abrupt end after the untimely death of Philippe Engel in 2005. The property was eventually sold to French businessman François Pinault and renamed Domaine Eugenie. Original releases from the domaine are now incredibly scarce and highly sought-after by collectors. This 1995 Grands-Echézeaux Grand Cru is a deep and savoury wine, punctuated by notes of ripe dark fruit, violets, liquorice and truffles.
