Based in the village of Vosne-Romanée, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is unquestionably one of the most prestigious wine producers in the world. Unlike other great Burgundy estates, DRC’s strategy has always been to focus on just a small number of grand cru vineyards, such as Grands-Echézeaux, where they own a 3.52-hectare plot. This particular release is from the 2007 vintage, available here in this striking magnum bottle. The nose is beautifully complex, boasting aromas of dark red fruit, white pepper and some oak. On the palate, mouth-coating flavours of cherries, plums, a touch of anise and hints of oak. Superb.
