A 1980 vintage Glenesk released by independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail as part of the Rare Old series of whiskies. The distillery sadly closed in 1985 and bottlings are now increasingly in demand. On the nose, intense aromas of oak, vanilla, honey, white flowers and buttered toast. The palate is punchy and spiced, with dense oak flavours and a touch of smoke.
