Fifth-generation Jean-Marie Fourrier – who trained under the legendary Henri Jayer – took over his family’s winery Domaine Fourrier in 1994. He started his legacy by decreasing the use of oak, which was more popular at the time, and adopted a low-intervention approach to winemaking. The estate boasts some of the oldest vines in Gevrey-Chambertin and is best known for its premier cru wines, including this Clos Saint-Jacques. The 2019 vintage is a vibrant and mouth-filling wine, with a deep and multidimensional core of fruit, bright acidity and fine concentration.
