Gattinara is a region in the far north-western part of Piedmont producing wines based on Nebbiolo (locally known as Spanna). Stylistically this is quite different to Barolo and Barbaresco, favouring prettiness, elegance and softness. This would be a superb match for roasted rack of lamb.
