Frontonio Garnacha Blanca 2017

The winery of Frontonio is based in a 200-year-old house with underground cellar in the village of Épila, in the IGP Valdejalón in Aragón. This wine is produced from two blocks of organically-cultivated vines that are on average over 45-years-old. It is a blend of Garnacha Blanca and Macabeo grapes that were hand-harvested, destemmed and macerated with their skins for 32 hours, prior to fermentation in demi-muids with indigenous yeasts. It was then matured for a further 12 months in 500-litre Allier oak demi-muids. Rounded and textural yet balanced by bright acidity, this offers up lovely notes of lemon, lime, white flowers, herbs, salted butter and smoke.
