Franchetti Tenuta di Passopisciaro 2011
This is the flagship wine from Andrea Franchetti’s Sicilian winery, Tenuta di Passopisciaro. It is a blend of 50% Cesanese d’Affile and 50% Petit Verdot grown in the volcanic rock and ash soils of Mt Etna. From a notoriously warm vintage, the 2011 release is powerful and deeply concentrated with notes of rich blackberry, plum, prunes, wild herbs, leather and exotic spices. Unusual but delicious!
