Finca Dofi Alvaro Palacios 500cl 2015

Since establishing his Priorat-based winery in 1989 after a stint working at Château Pétrus, Alvaro Palacios has quickly come to be recognised as one of Spain’s greatest winemakers and with a focus on local varieties from exceptionally old, low-yielding vines, he is consistently crafting some of the country’s finest wines. Finca Dofi is mostly Grenache with a small amount of Cariñena from a plot in the village of Gratallops planted between 1900 and 1940 on a precipitous hillside with typical ‘llicorella’ slate soils. The 2015 is bright and elegant with delicious notes of red fruits, wild herbs and slatey minerality. The balance here is supreme and barely perceptible tannins allow for early consumption.
