Figeac Magnum 2016

150 cl
£642.00
In the latter part of this decade, Château Figeac has had a rather remarkable run of form and the 2016 is a sublime release. A blend of 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot and 26% Cabernet Franc, it is vibrant and complex in aroma, wafting from the glass with delicious notes of plum, crème de cassis, raspberry, truffle, tilled earth and a hint of wild mint so typical of Figeac. On the palate it is poised and precise, with a fine web of perfectly ripe tannins knitting together deep layers of concentrated black fruits with threads of alluring graphite minerality. This is certainly one to stash away for a few years before opening but should yield incredible rewards further down the track.
