Fedellos do Couto is an exciting new winery founded in 2011 by Luis Taboada in the Ribeira Sacra region in Galicia, northwest Spain. Set in the steep, rugged hillsides of the Ribeiras do Sil and Quiroga-Bibei subzones, focus is on local varieties and minimal intervention winemaking, producing wines of elegance, nuance, persistence and power.
Conasbrancas is a blend of 50% Godello, 25% Dona Branca with the final 25% a mixture of varieties. 70% of the grapes were whole-cluster fermented in plastic vats with the rest pressed and fermented in barrique, followed by maturation for seven months in seasoned 300- and 500-litre oak barrels. This is an incredibly vibrant, expressive and subtly textural wine exuding notes of citrus, white flowers, honey and seaspray.
