Escolma Vina de Martin 2014

The tiny winery of Luis Anxo Rodriguez was founded in 1988 and focuses on producing characterful wines from local Galician grape varieties sourced from just 3.7 hectares of vines in the Arnoia district of D.O Ribeiro. Viña de Escolma Martin is his flagship wine and is made from a blend of Treixadura, Albariño, Lado and Torrentés selected from his oldest plots, fermented and matured separately for one year before blending and bottling. The 2014 is a delicious release with wonderful intensity and aromatic complexity, exuding notes of white orchard fruits, citrus, honey, dried herbs and peppery spice. Vibrant, fresh and lightly textural, this is an exceptional food wine, pairing particularly well with fresh seafood.
