Ermitage L`Ermite Chapoutier 2016

Chapoutier is one of the biggest companies in the Rhône Valley acting both as a producer and a négociant, with activity across all of the major appellations. This wine is made from 100% Syrah from 80-year-old organically and biodynamically cultivated vines at the top of the Hermitage hill, in a plot called Ermite. The 2016 is a superb release endowed with incredibly rich and powerful layers of deep black fruits, liquorice, spice and earth. Whilst the indelible quality of this wine is undeniable, it will definitely require further cellaring as the tannins are very pronounced and should live comfortably for 20+ years.
