Based in the foothills of the Pyrenees at almost 1,000m altitude, Castell d’Encus is the project of winemaker and former director of Torres, Raul Bobet. Ekam is a white wine produced from a blend of mostly Riesling with a splash of Albariño. All fruit was hand-harvested and fermented using indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Some botrytised grapes were also included. The result is an eminently enjoyable wine of admirable freshness, precision and complexity.
