Based in Germany’s Mosel region, Weingut Egon Müller is widely considered one of the world’s finest white wine producers and the highly revered Scharzhofberg vineyard is the source of some of the greatest Riesling in the country. From the low-yielding yet incredibly high-quality 2019 vintage, Müller made two Kabinett expressions of Scharzhofberg, this “regular” version and an “Alter Reben” edition destined for auction.
Stephan Reinhardt in The Wine Advocate described it as a “frisky, mouth-wateringly salty and piquant Riesling of remarkable precision, finesse and elegance” and awarded it 96 points with a drinking window of 2026-2060.
