Based in Germany’s Mosel region, Weingut Egon Müller is widely considered one of the world’s finest white wine producers and the highly revered Scharzhofberg vineyard is the source of some of the greatest Riesling in the country. Made in the sweeter, botrytised Auslese style, this is a remarkable wine from perhaps one of the greatest vintages of recent memory. Stephan Reinhardt of The Wine Advocate described it as “hedonist, perfectly balanced and weightless” with a “long, tensioned, irresistibly seductive finish.” He awarded it 99 points and a drinking window of 2020-2070.
