Echezeaux DRC Magnum 2011

Based in the village of Vosne-Romanée, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti – often abbreviated to DRC – is widely considered among the world`s greatest wine producers. The cult domaine is named after its most famous vineyard, Romanée-Conti, which covers just 1.81 hectares of vines on the mid-slope of the Côte d`Or. DRC is co-owned by the Villaine and Leroy families and produces only grand cru wines, such as this Échezeaux, made from a 4.67-hectare vineyard holding. This release is the 2011 vintage, available here in magnum format. Expect plenty of purple fruit, coffee beans, spices, violets and earthy notes. The tannins are very fine, and the acidity is crisp.
