Since 2000, Eben Sadie has been producing cutting-edge and characterful wines that have revolutionised the South African landscape and inspired a whole generation of winemakers. 2017 Columella is mostly Syrah with Mourvedre, Grenache, Carignan and Cinsault. Initially quite closed, with aeration this reveals intense notes of red and black fruits, sage, tobacco and white pepper. Powerful, yet refined, with superb harmony and focus.
