The 2019 Dominus is shockingly primary. A wine of tremendous density and power, the 2019 is also a wine for readers who can be patient, as it won`t be ready to drink for another 10-15 years! Dark fruit, leather, tobacco, incense, dried herbs and scorched earth lend striking complexity. The 2019 is a huge wine that needs time to come into its own. Located in Yountville within the Napa Valley AVA, Dominus is a wine estate producing Bordeaux-style blends. The estate was founded in 1983 by Christian Moueix, who is also the owner of Château Pétrus in the Pomerol region of Bordeaux. The vineyard was originally planted in 1838 by George C. Yount, for whom the town of Yountville was named. Released in summer 2024, the 2021 vintage is a blend composed of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc. The wine reveals its charms gradually, unfurling notes of rich plum, cassis, fresh pine and baking spice.
