First produced in 2014, the Monopole Clásico was created to celebrate the centenary of the CVNE brand. Produced in the Rioja region from mostly Viura grapes, this unique cuvée takes its inspiration from the traditional production methods of the 1960s, with the wine being topped up with Manzanilla Sherry purchased from the Hidalgo family whilst it ages on its lees in 300- and 500-litre used oak vats.
Straw yellow in colour, it offers up complex aromas of pear, apple, white currants and white flowers, with intriguing notes of dried fruits and spices. On the palate it is elegant and fresh, closing with a long, saline-tinged finish.
