Cuvee Madame 1995

Cuvée Madame from Château Tirecul la Gravière is an incredible sweet wine from the vastly underrated region of Monbazillac. It is produced by Bruno and Claudie Balancini from super-ripe Muscadelle, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes from 80-year-old vines that are painstakingly hand-harvested berry by berry with several passages through the vineyard. With miniscule yields production is exceptionally limited but the wines are extraordinarily high quality and immensely complex, with remarkable clarity and immaculate balance. The 1995 release scored a perfect 100 points from Robert Parker Jr.
