Alain Graillot is one of the more underrated producers in the Northern Rhône Valley, making immensely enjoyable and excellent value wines from his superb holdings in Crozes Hermitage. La Guiraude represents a selection of the finest barrels of Syrah from the villages of La Chene Verts. It is deep and dark, with alluring scents of wild black berries, smoked meats, garrigues and crushed stones. Silky smooth and subtly rich, this would be a delicious wine paired with roasted shoulder of lamb.
