First produced in 2011, Croix Canon is the second label of the illustrious St-Émilion Grand Cru estate, Château Canon. Made with the same meticulous attention to detail as their grand vin, this is a blend of mostly Merlot with a smaller quantity of Cabernet Franc. The 2016 is an excellent release composed of 76% Merlot and 24% Cabernet Franc, with abundant ripe black fruits, supple tannins and subtle savoury inflections. This is the perfect wine for short- to medium-term drinking and would pair brilliantly with roasted meats or mature cheeses.
