Croft Vintage 2016
With a rich heritage and history spanning over four centuries, Croft is one of the most distinguished of all the Port houses. Though initially quite damp, 2016 turned out to be a superb year in the Douro, with a long, hot ripening season producing incredibly high quality and concentrated fruit. On the nose this is quietly intense and broody with notes of wild berries, blackcurrant, dried roses and eucalypt. Youthfully firm, though with ample plumptious black fruits at its core, this will surely evolve into a Vintage Port of superb aromatic complexity and opulence if given plenty of cellar time.
