Inopia Rouge from Mounir and Rotem Saouma is a wonderful blend of mostly Grenache Noir with lesser parts Mourvèdre, Counoise, Cinsault and Syrah, aged for 18 months on lees in a combination of 500-litre casks, foudre and concrete eggs. It is an immensely characterful wine with attractive notes of red and black fruits, baking spices, wild herbs and liquorice. Rich, silky and svelte, this is a delicious early-drinking offering that drinks like a mini Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
