Romanée-Conti is not only the name of the most iconic vineyard in the world but also the name of arguably the best Burgundy producer today. Situated in the village of Vosne-Romanée, DRC is co-owned by the de Villaine and Leroy families, with Alexandre Bernier in place as cellar master following the retirement of Bernard Noblet in 2018. The Corton Grand Cru is a recent addition to the domaine’s portfolio, produced from a 2.28-hectare vineyard leased to DRC by Prince Florent de Merode since November 2008. This is the very first release of the cuvée, available here in a fabulous magnum bottle. On the nose, expect pronounced aromas of black cherry and vibrant spiciness, whereas the palate is beautifully structured, showing notes of spices, plums and cherries, all backed up by high acidity.
