Jean-Luc Colombo is a leading producer/négociant in the Rhône Valley and is particularly associated with the Cornas appellation. His first vintage of Cornas Les Ruchets in 1987 established his reputation and remains his flagship wine. The 2018 vintage was sourced from 90-year-old vines and aged for 22 months in oak, 15% new. It is a plummy Syrah, with rich black fruit flavours and accents of cassis, tapenade and charcuterie. The wine is framed by firm tannins and lingering notes of vanilla, chocolate and earth.
