Cornas Guillaume Gilles 2014

Having worked with leading names such as Robert Michel and Jean-Louis Chave, Guillaume Gilles established his solo project in 2007 starting with just 2ha of rented vines in the prime lieu-dit of Chaillot. His flagship Cornas is produced from 100% Syrah sourced from 33-year-old vines cultivated with scrupulous attention to detail and with no chemical interventions. It is a wonderfully pure wine with deliciously rich notes of wild blackberry fruit, smoked herbs, peppery spice and crushed rock minerality. Though wonderful to drink now it will happily cellar for up to 10 years.
