Viñedos Contino is widely considered one of the key producers of the Rioja wine revolution and has energetically championed the ‘château’ concept in the region whereby wines are made from a single estate.
Viña del Olivo is their flagship wine and is a blend of old-vine Tempranillo, Graciano and Mazuelo from a single vineyard. It is rich, ripe and modern in feel, with superb balance of plush fruit character, clean acidity and generosity of oak. Whilst this has early drinking appeal, the best will be revealed with a further 2-3 years in the cellar.
