Viñedos Contino is widely considered one of the key producers of the Rioja wine revolution and has energetically championed the ‘château’ concept in the region whereby wines are made from a single estate. The 2011 Gran Reserva was only bottled in magnums or larger formats and is a blend of 70% Tempranillo, 15% Graciano, 12% Garnacha and 3% white variety Viura, aged in seasoned oak for three years followed by a further three years in bottle.
