Clos d`Ora Gerard Bertrand 2014

Clos d’Ora is a special plot of limestone and marl soils set within the Laville Bertrou estate in AOC Minervois La Livinière singled out by Gérard Bertrand in the year 2000 as having exceptional qualities. The backbone of this wine is provided by Syrah with the addition of Grenache, Mourvedre and Carignan and all fruit comes from biodynamically cultivated vines. The 2014 is an immensely rich and full-bodied wine, with remarkably thick texture but a keen sense of vitality and freshness. It is awash with sumptuous black fruits, wild herbs, cedar and spices, with a long life ahead of it and further complexities destined to be revealed.
