Clos de Tart 2011 is a Grand Cru red Burgundy produced by Domaine des Lambrays. The wine displays a complex profile of red fruit, including raspberry and dark cherry, intermingled with earthy undertones and subtle notes of clove and cedar. Whole-bunch fermentation contributes to its nuanced aromatic expression. On the palate, it presents a structured yet balanced experience, revealing layers of flavour with a distinct mineral quality.
The 2011 Clos de Tart Grand Cru was picked from September 10 at 28hl/ha and 13.5° alcohol. It displays the hallmarks of the vintage on a leafy, almost autumnal nose that seems to have been the same now for two or three years. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly dry, stiff tannin, more black fruit than other vintages and hints of espresso and tobacco. This appears to have become a little more austere in recent months, whereas it previously displayed more depth and complexity. It is difficult to predict how this 2011 will mature.
