Cirsion Bodegas Roda 2005

Bodegas Roda is one of the newest wineries in Rioja and very much represents the modern side of the region, favouring short maturation times versus more traditional extended barrel ageing. Cirsion was first released in 1998 and is a vineyard and barrel selection of 100% Tempranillo aged for 8 months in French oak and a further 4 months in bottle prior to release. The 2005 is a superb wine from an excellent vintage, endowed with a brilliant core of intense black fruits, wonderful savoury nuances and the perfect balance of power, structure and freshness to ensure a long life ahead. Drink from now until 2040.
