The 2013 release from Chichibu`s `The Peated` range, made using barley peated to around 60ppm - for reference, that’s a slightly higher level than used at Ardbeg.
The nose balances big peat with honeyed notes and a touch of ripe forest fruit. The palate starts zingy with a touch of citrus oil and soon becomes smoked bacon and cigar box with a touch of sweet malt. The finish is bonfire and oak spice - a peat lover`s dream!
