This is the entry level cuvée of premier Châteauneuf-du-Pape producer, Domaine Pierre Usseglio. It is a classic blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 5% Cinsault and 5% Mourvedre sourced from vines between 35 and 75 years of age. The 2016 is a full-bodied and powerful release yet exhibits tremendous balance and finesse. Redolent of black cherry, raspberry, liquorice, wild herbs and tar, this is the archetypal modern Châteauneuf that is superbly well-executed.
