Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee da Capo Pegau 600cl 2003

Owned and operated by the tireless Féraud family, Domaine de Pegau is unquestionably one of the leading producers in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Cuvée da Capo is their flagship wine and is only produced in years deemed of exceptional quality, with just seven vintages ever released. It is a traditional assemblage of the 13 permitted varieties all sourced from the supreme Le Crau sub-zone but contains a significant portion of Grenache. 2003 was a warm vintage and this is an exuberant and powerful release now emerging into its ideal drinking window. With hugely seductive layers of rich fruit and seams of immaculate, velvety tannins, this is an absolute joy to drink and would make the perfect centrepiece to any important occasion.
