Chateauneuf du Pape Celestins Bonneau Magnum 2012

Domaine Henri Bonneau is one of the iconic producers of Châteauneuf-du-Pape with just 6 hectares of vineyards split between the legendary La Crau and Couthézon sub-zones. Reserve des Celestins is the most famous of their wines and is a barrel selection only released in years where the quality is deemed exceptional. The 2012 is deep, rich and powerful, with overt black fruits, exotic spices, peppery fragrance and complex mineral inflections. The tannic structure is impressive though should have ameliorated and softened with time, whilst perfectly judged acidity provides reassuring vim and vigour.
