Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc La Charbonniere 2018

Domaine de la Charbonniere’s Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc from the 2018 vintage is a blend of 40% Grenache Blanc, 40% Roussanne and 20% Clairette from two quite different, but complementary, terroirs. ‘Mourre des Perdrix’ and ‘Brusquières’. The grapes are manually harvested, rigorously sorted and fully destemmed prior to fermentation, with a combination of stainless steel and new oak used for maturation. The result is a full-bodied, rich and vibrant wine, with notes of orange citrus, stone fruits, white flower blossom, vanilla and exotic spices. It is excellent to drink now, though this should develop attractive honeyed character with some bottle age.
