Run by successive generations of the Avril family, Clos des Papes has a long and illustrious history of producing exceptional quality wine in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The 2007 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc is a medium-bodied and delicately spicy blend of all six permitted white varieties in the appellation. "Very pure and stony, with a note of grapefruit zest around the edges of the blanched almond, honeysuckle, Jonagold apple and heather flavours. The long, superminerally finish is amazingly pure and refined, with plenty in reserve." Wine Spectator, 2008
