Château de Beaucastel has long been considered one of the greatest wines of France. It is particularly renowned for its elegance and ageing potential. All 13 varieties of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation have been organically grown here since the 1960s. The 1994 vintage displays a very beautiful red colour, and the nose is very open, with notes of old leather, vanilla, game and a touch of smoke. The palate is smooth and refined, without any astringency, and the tannins are sweet. A lovely wine to drink now.
