Malbec is a grape with a long history throughout the Southwest of France, including Bordeaux where it used to be a big part of the red wine blend. But French Malbec is mostly associated with the town of Cahors, where Château de Haute-Serre is located. Icône is a 100% Malbec, with a very dark, almost black colour and purple reflections. The nose has tones of vanilla and ripe black fruit, plus hints of violet. Soft and elegant on the palate, thanks to impressive tannins. This highlights the black fruit and spicy aromas, carrying them into a long aftertaste.
