Domaine Heitz-Lochardet initially began life in 1857 under the Nie-Vantey family. Post-phylloxera, many of the vineyards were sold, but the best parcels in the Côte de Beane were kept in the family by Georges Lochardet. Fast-forward several generations and the domaine is now under the direction of Brigitte Lochardet and her husband Christian Heitz, with winemaking overseen by her young son, Armand.
This crystalline and expressive wine is produced from a tiny 0.15ha plot of vines planted in 1952 in Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru ‘Morgeot’. Farming is biodynamic, all fruit is hand-harvested, and maturation is for 11-12 months in used oak with periodic lees-stirring.
