Charmes Chambertin Christophe Roumier 2014
This is a sensational Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru from the seriously underrated 2014 vintage produced ‘en metayage’ by the highly respected Christophe Roumier. It is wonderfully chiselled and precise on the nose, with delightful scents of red and black berry fruit, blood orange and crushed minerals. On the palate it is medium-bodied and lightly tannic, with superb mid-palate concentration and a beautifully tensile minerality to the finish. Though better for earlier drinking, this should have a 15-20-year trajectory.
