Domaine de la Vougeraie was created in 1999 when Jean-Claude Boisset consolidated all the vineyard holdings accrued from his various négociant companies, consisting nearly 40 hectares of vines across 30 different appellations and including six grand crus. In recent years, this organic certified domaine has hit a new gear and is producing some of the most compelling wines in the region.

Vougeraie’s Grand Cru Corton-Charlemagne offering is produced from two tiny 0.2ha parcels of vines in the lieux-dits of Le Charlemagne and En Charlemagne. The vines here are towards the top of the hill of Corton and were planted as far back as the 1950s. Vinification commenced in stainless steel but was finished in barrels, followed by 18 months maturation in 44% new oak.
