Domaine Hudelot-Baillet Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 2022 is a full-bodied Burgundy red wine from the Premier Cru climat of Les Charmes in the commune of Chambolle-Musigny in the Côte de Nuits. Hudelot-Baillet is a family-owned winery, currently led by Dominique Leguen, who is the son-in-law of Joël Hudelot-Baillet. Leguen joined the estate after his service in the air force in 1998 and has been responsible for winemaking since 2002. While their vineyards are primarily located in the Chambolle-Musigny appellation, they produce a diverse range of wines, ranging from the prestigious Grand Cru Bonnes-Mares to Bourgogne Rouge and Blanc. This release comes from the Premier Cru of Les Charmes – arguably the most prized in Chambolle, producing classically `Chambolle` Pinot Noirs. floral and delicate with silky tannins and well delineated minerality.
The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru comes from two barrels and is aged in 25% new oak. This is much more complex and nuanced on the nose than the Vieilles Vignes. very focused with ebullient red fruit laced with violet. The palate is medium-bodied with good density on the entry. It`s quite structured for a Chambolle with some firm tannins on the finish, but sufficient fruit keeps it balanced and poised. - Neil Martin - The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru comes from two barrels and is aged in 25% new oak.
