Chablis Les Clos Long Depaquit 2022 is a full-bodied Grand Cru Chablis sourced from an esteemed vineyard renowned for its Kimmeridgian calcareous clay soil, which contains ochre-hued marls. With an average vine age of 37 years, the grapes benefit from deep-rooted complexity. The fruit undergoes meticulous hand harvesting, followed by 65% fermentation in stainless steel vats and 35% in neutral oak barrels. The wine then ages for 10 months on its fine lees, finishing in stainless steel for an additional six months.
The 2022 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru comes from three parcels with different ages. It takes a few moments to coalesce but it develops nicely, a mixture of white and yellow fruit, crushed limestone and quince. Very harmonious on the finish with a dab of creaminess that lingers on the aftertaste. This is a lovely Les Clos that will drink earlier than its peers.
