Castellare di Castellina has rocketed to global recognition with this flagship Super Tuscan and the 2017 vintage is a wine everyone will want to have in their cellar. A blend of 85% Sangiovese and 15% Malvasia Nera, the nose has hints of blackberry jam and Mediterranean scrub, with a balsamic note. The palate is dens, with savoury tannins, a very persistent finish, and a return of the balsamic trace. A one-off special black label in 2017 celebrates the 40th anniversary of its first release.
